Inquiry Proposal
For my inquiry proposal I chose the topic of music. I love singing while playing my guitar/ukulele and recently I have been using those skills to create songs. During the legacy class, I was planning on using my time to create more songs, fix up songs that I’ve written, somehow get my music recorded, and share it with others. I chose this topic because of my love for music and because of how much my music makes other people feel so much happier.
My topic relates to the portrait of a learner competencies, global citizen, solution seeker, and effective communicator. It relates to global citizen because I will go around asking different people questions to get an understanding of problems that are going on today and I will incorporate those into my songs for people's voices to be heard. My inquiry also relates to solution seeker because while making songs it is a difficult process to get the right chords, strumming pattern, melody, etc. and often times I have to go to other people for help to see what sounds right or what I could do differently to improve what I’ve been working on. My topic relates to effective communicator because music is a way to express my thoughts as well as other people’s thoughts for more people to clearly understand them.
To incorporate the knowledge of a professional, I might email someone who knows a lot about this topic or someone who has a career in which they deal with this. I could also watch YouTube videos on how professionals create songs the way they do.
For this project I am planning on starting by asking around to see other people’s thoughts to incorporate into my songs like, what types of music they like, what are some troubles they may face, and if there is anything that they want to tell the world but can’t. I will also research and see how professionals would go about with this information. After I do that, I will compile my findings into one or more songs and try to get those recorded and shared to as many people as I can. By the end of this class, I am planning on having my songs heard by many and people’s ideas shared with the world.
